Defensible Space Maintenance

We provide defensible space maintenance following CAL FIRE guidelines and regulations. Every property is different, some need simple upkeep, others need a more robust treatment.

You may also qualify for wildfire hardening discounts from your insurance carrier, and we help facilitate that process.

Our detailed PDF invoices include photos and descriptions that communicate clearly to insurance companies that the maintenance has been completed, giving you proof of compliance on file.

Below is a general list of services we offer to meet the recommendations provided by CAL FIRE, California state law, and insurance companies:

•  ⁠Clear dead or dying grass, weeds, or plants within thirty feet of the dwelling

•  ⁠Ensure trees, shrubs, wood piles, wooden patio furniture, and all other combustible items are at least ten feet from each other

•  ⁠Trim all tree branches to at least ten feet from other trees, and to a height of at least six feet from the ground

•  ⁠Cut grass so it is no more than four inches tall

•  ⁠Ensure combustible outbuildings, propane tanks, and wood piles rest on top of ten feet of bare soil in all directions, and are at least ten feet from each other

We also provide Zone Zero Ember Defense, clearing the five-foot perimeter immediately around your home of combustible mulch, vegetation, and stored materials so embers can’t ignite the structure. That pairs with the broader defensible space work above to give you layered protection from ember to flame.

Upon completion of our defensible space maintenance services, we provide a detailed PDF invoice with descriptions and photos of the work that you can send directly to your insurance company as proof of property improvements.
